As you should be well aware by now, Atoms For Peace is the "supergroup" formed by Thom Yorke, Flea and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. They've been playing together since 2009 and this is officially their debut release, landing on a specially minted sublabel of Modeselektor's 50 Weapons. On the A-side Yorke and co remix 'Tamer Animals' by American indie-pop band Other Lives, replacing the forlorn vocal atop a fluid bed of seamless electronic rhythms and full-sunken bass bearing no small resemblance to Yorke's work with Four Tet and Burial on Text Records. Turn it over and Atoms For Peace remix their own track 'Other Side', resulting an intricate and introvert moire of modular synth pulses woven with traces of vocal and descending to a sublime closing resolution. They've alluded to a possible album on the horizon, and if this is anything to go by, it should be quite special.
