Bronze African male sculpture by African artist Benjamin Tuge.
The artist trained at Driefontein Mission in Zimbabwe, under the instruction of the late Cornealius Manguma. He moved to South Africa in 2005 where he pursued his interest in nonrealistic African traditional art, and loves sculpting human figures and animals.
This figure is hand carved, probably in Verdite, and is signed at the bottom. It was obtained at a local sale in NC at an estate of a couple that traveled to South Africa frequently and were avid art collectors.
