This is possibly an antique used lineman's tool. It is an oblong wood dowel with eye hooks on both ends.
The eye hook ends are made out of metal.

This vintage oblong wood dowel measures around
18”w x 1-7/8”h x 1-7/8”d. It has wear from age and years of being used. It is in
good vintage
condition. It was
used by my great-grandfather when he did the electrical job in Reese, MI during the early to mid-1900s.
